The Chasing Cancellara: Berne-Andermatt becomes Zurich-Andermatt
Fabian Cancellara's one-day race is getting a new format. After four editions from Berne to Andermatt, the first edition from Zurich to Andermatt will take place on Saturday, 24 August 2024.
Save the date! Saturday, 24 August 2024 will see the premiere of Zurich-Andermatt. The one-day race from Zurich to Andermatt involves over 2020 kilometres and around 4,500 metres of altitude. The exact route will be announced at a later date.
Registration opens from 1 November
The number of participants is limited. Zurich-Andermatt can be completed in different categories: "The Singles", "The Relays", "The Couples" and "The Happy Threesome". Chasing Cancellara thus offers the unique opportunity for beginners to semi-professionals to compete with two-time Olympic champion Fabian Cancellara.
Andermatt as a road cycling mecca
Andermatt is surrounded by no less than eight Alpine passes on the plateau of the Ursern Valley. The winding pass roads and the racing bike tours make Andermatt the ideal starting point, transit point and destination for racing bike tours. Already at the end of July, Fabian Cancellara's ambitious Tudor Pro Cycling Team hosted their training camp in Andermatt and benefited from the best training conditions.
