Architectural contract awarded to Baumberger & Stegmeier Architekten AG, Zurich
The project for the Mona apartment building was awarded to Baumberger & Stegmeier Architekten in Zurich. They had previously designed this building in connection with the project competition in 2008 and will now execute it.
Structural specialities
The exterior uses torched granite from the region, which is also reminiscent of the cliffs in the area. The rough plaster façade creates depth, and its appearance changes depending on the light. Traditional sgraffito work, i.e. locations that were etched by hand, reveal inner layers and adorn the building with classic Swiss ornaments.
